Apple promoting podcasting to businesses

There seems to be some interesting email appearing in businesses’ inboxes these days. Coming from Apple, an email that states:

Promoting your business just got easier. Create a podcast with GarageBand, post it to iTunes in minutes, and reach customers, clients, and partners in a whole new way. Chefs are sharing recipes. Maternity store owners are giving the lowdown on diaper bags. And other professionals are airing business discussions, marketing new products and services, and keeping people informed.

It is, admittedly, nice to see a company with a fair amount of clout pushing podcasting as one of the cheapest and most effective ways to communicate with your existing and potential clientele. By the tone of the email though, you’d think they invented the whole thing. 🙂

I’ve done a couple of podcasts of this nature with clients in the past, and found that getting them to speak about themselves generates an enthusiasm you don’t normally see in advertisement (if they can even afford any of it). Try it out for yourself!

Isn’t that how Apple always does business?
