Always Think This Way

I am better today than yesterday, and I will be better tomorrow.

Things that were hard in the past are easy now. That can be the same with anything I do.

Tough parts of my life have become nothing more than stories that I tell people. This will also happen with whatever challenge and pain I have right now.

I am capable of much more than I think I am. I am learning that I am not a fixed being, but someone capable of exceeding everyone’s expectations if I choose.

I am better than this. I am meant for more.

I am a champion standing over my former self.

Then, once you believe it, making it happen is easy.

There is a lot of power in these short statements.

    I particularly like:
“I am better today than yesterday, and I will be better tomorrow.”
    and
“I am a champion standing over my former self.”

I think I’ll make this something I tell myself every morning. Also, I’m about to share this with a like minded friend.

Dude, bottom line: you just have to believe that you are fucking awesome and do whatever you can to confirm it.

When I talk about obstacles I’ve overcome, I try to spin them into stories of adventure. Because they are.

    Agreed.

It’s an “against all odds” proposition time and time again. We HAVE to rise up continually until our default program is “invincible”.

    Artfully said, Julien!

I’ve been telling myself this every day since the beginning of the year, and I plan to continue. Life is so much more pleasant when I enjoy and appreciate who I am.

    Lovely reminder. Thank you.

“I am capable of much more than I think I am.” – thanks Julien. That is one of my new catch cries – I hope you don’t mind if I borrow it!

Ashley, that is a great way to start the day. I’m going to do that – thanks for the idea!

Those are some powerful affirmations ๐Ÿ™‚

Another one that I always believe in is as below:

“I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, prosperous and happy” ๐Ÿ™‚ Say that in your head every morning when you’re waking up and you’ll see the difference in your approach to life within weeks ๐Ÿ˜‰

I always accuse Chris of telepathy but when this came into my inbox yesterday I didn’t have time to read it because I was literally “in over my head” on a project. But I saved it and this am it was the first thing I went to.
I actually thought it was Chris’s because he’s so often right where my mind’s eye is. Another GREAT one. Thanks.

I’m bookmarking this. I’ve printed this. I’m tweeting this. I’m resisting the urge to steal this.

If you believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience then this is, of course, true and remains so every moment of our lives.
    Good reminder.

Hell yes! I just posted today about the path being the goal. This blog post is along the exact lines (in my opinion). I applied it directly to photography and post-processing.

I’ll find a way to link here. Because this adds to my post awesomely.

    Rock on

Wow. This article together with the book I’ve been reading (When I say no, I feel guilty) are like raising spirits all over the place!

It’s like poetry. Currently I’m writing an article about why you should never stop dreaming. Your articles covers the same idea.

Make yourself feel better. No one else will do it for you. You are awesome. You have a lot to be proud of. Be proud of who you are. Never feel empty. Never feel useless. Do whatever it takes to pursue your goals. It’s YOUR LIFE.

“Tough parts of my life have become nothing more than stories that I tell people.” What a great way to think about the story of your life! I need more interesting stories. Thanks for the post and the meditation/motivation.

I think this does take a leap of faith.

Something scary that I learned in the military is just how far the human mind and body can be pushed. Once you realize that, you realize that you really can do just about anything.

The problem I’ve had every since, is taking on too much at once. Everything I take on is something I’m capable of, but I end up spread too thin and lose focus.

So what I think it comes down to is the same lesson I’ve learned from raising a child: pick your battles carefully, and make sure you win the ones you pick.

Julien, this sounds like it could come straight out of “What to Say When You Talk to Yourself” by Shad Helmstetter. I quit smoking (many years ago) thanks to that book. It would be worthy of adding to your must read list.
    Best to you, sir. =)

@CTMoore: I battle that same thing – thanks for the insight. “Pick your battles carefully, and make sure you win the ones you pick.” That’s a winner.

Come on now- let’s get real! Some days we just don’t give a fuck! We shouldn’t pressure ourselves to be on all the time – that just ain’t natural. Better to just shrug off a ho hum day and believe you’ll make up for it some other time when you’re feeling great. The body doesn’t always appreciate the mind trying to mess with it. Repeat after me: ‘Ah fuck it- I don’t feel like winning today!’

Is that you, Stuart Smalley? As usual, Julien gets it. Business is a confidence game. You cannot succeed – getting a job, winning an account, convincing a client, even getting girl to like you – without projecting confidence. Believing you are better every day breeds confidence, and it’s the most powerful weapon in your arsenal.
